Yes we did go boating. We did not go for a super-long ride -- north to the island for Abby to play. She ran around forever chasing minnows. The place was mobbed -- think of an RV park with small trailers parked every 10 feet -- yes, that's the picture. Barbecues, huge umbrellas, kids, dogs, swimming -- the water temperature was 81F at the inlet and 86F away from the fresh water coming in from the ocean.
From there we went to Inlet Harbor for lunch, then onto the adjacent island that was just starting to appear as the tide was going out. There were two dogs there that wouldn't leave Abby alone -- especially a big black retriever that wanted to ... ahem ... have his way with her. She would spin around and snarl and bark and he would back off, but was soon back again. We left there and went to the island just before we turn in towards our boat launch -- there Abby was able to run by herself and played a bit with another retriever who was behaving himself.
Back home, we cleaned up the boat ... I cleaned up the boat ... we did some reading and then watched a couple of Stargate episodes. We had tuna for dinner -- delicious -- even the St. Lawrence Market tuna never tastes this good. It will be hard to go back north to 27 varieties of salmon and trout.
Oh -- we only saw two dolphins but we did see a turtle -- a big sea turtle. At first I thought that it was a manatee but it was a turtle, right by the shore and the mangroves close to our return. It came up a few times for air in the same spot, long enough for me to circle around and double check.
With so many boats on the water boating officialdom was busy -- Sheriff boats, State Law Enforcement (fish & game) boats, such-and-such assistant boats, no coast guard out today, per se but we could see their boats at the coast guard station. I did not see them stopping anyone rather they were just making their presence known.
Abby does not seem very spiffy tonight. Perhaps it was the salt water that she drank or perhaps it was just the amount of exercise. She had plenty of fresh water to drink before getting out but inevitably she drinks some salt water as she paddles around.
She is a lucky dog. Yesterday she went to the dog beach with Sandy which has now been reopened all the way to Ponce Inlet -- yeah ! -- so she and Sandy got a good walk. Well, I take that back, since I understand that Abby spent most of her time in the water. Abby probably covered three times the distance, at least, and did some swimming too.
Tomorrow (today by the time that I post this) I'll go for another bike ride but earlier this time. Fedex is supposed to deliver the dehumidifier for up north sometime between noon and 4pm and will call 1 hour before delivery. That means that I should be back by noon because they need help unloading. At 100 lbs it's not an easy thing to unload. I sure hope that we'll be able to get it into the car in 10 days ...
That is it for the moment ...

It's morning. I'm trying to sort out what's going on with my EZPASS account but it looks like I'll have to call them. A couple of our tags are flagged as "lost" on their website and we got "call ezpass" when we went through toll booths. We did call ezpass while driving and used a second tag that we had in the car -- this one is deemed "ok" but still got the flags. I guess that I'll have to talk to someone live ... sigh. The other funny thing is that the address was set at Jeffrey's address -- not something that I remember doing -- but we got that fixed. He has his own ezpass account and 2 tags, one for him and one for Sara. I need to get this sorted out before the return trip.
I'll be going out for a ride shortly -- the doppler is clear and it's a "cool" 75F at 6:45 a.m. in the dark. It's "only" supposed to go up to 90F today. I need to be back by noon.
That's it.
