Sandy said it best -- it has seemed like a two week vacation down here. Great weather, great food, great company ... easy living.
Today we're off -- off to Lexington VA where we'll stay overnight with Linda Wilder but not before attending a Blue Grass concert tonight with her, Alec and a friend of Alec's. Abby won't be happy about being left behind but then again, she's not a Blue Grass fan :).
Yesterday was perhaps the nicest day here, weather-wise. The temperature was in the 70's vs the high 80's. The humidity was lower. It was a great day for biking and a great day for Sandy and Abby at the dog beach. This morning, for the first time since we've been here, the a.m. temperature is under 70F -- not much, it's 69F. It's supposed to be nice the next few days ... time to leave, right ? Oh well, c'est la vie.
The boat cover is secure; the car is packed except for the cooler, our two soft-sided bags and a couple of misc items. It is packed to the hilt and beyond. I found a tarp yesterday at Lowes (and so did Jason at Canadian Tire, thanks Jas, sorry about that). I'll keep the 10ml heavy-duty version that I now have in the car. The last parcel of Aaron's arrived by Fedex; Sandy's prescription arrived by mail -- all great timing.
Today's route will take us north on I95 then west on I26 to Columbia. At Columbia we pick up I77 and follow it until it meets up with I81 which will take us to Lexington VA. Tomorrow we'll continue on I81 to Harrisburg PA then east on I75 to Exton where Jeffrey lives. On Sunday it will be the usual -- I476/I81 to Syracuse; I90 to Buffalo; QEW/407/400/69 to other home. We'll stop briefly at Stef's to drop stuff off and say hello.
Of course that is all "the plan" and plans can go awry. I'm not sure about blog updates during the trip but I'll get connected somehow.
Happy & safe travels to us ...
