Feb 14 - and now we pause

I did very little bathroom work yesterday. First thing, I sanded then added a layer of mud to make that drywall joint disappear. Once dry and sanded, I primed that spot. Presto ! Gone !

But that was it. I hit the road with my bike, heading into the southwest wind that warmed the place up amazingly quickly. Thinking that I might need the wind vest, that never came out of the rack-pack.

I was a bit sluggish after the workout with Christie, not taking full advantage of the tail/cross-tail wind on the way back. She'd had me doing a variety of exercises yesterday ... reverse fly; tip-of-toe raises (?) at the curb edge with toes straight, toe-in and toe-out; jump-pullup-pause-lower slowly; squats with 105 lb bar across my shoulders and behind my neck. There's more, but I can never remember all she does in a given day.

Back from my ride, we watched a little TV and then went to SoNapa, using up most of the rest of the gift card that we'd gotten from Sharon Carpenter after we closed on the Keely house. Sandy had the red snapper fish-of-the-day and I had the Osso Bucco. Mine was huge; I'm still feeling the effects of eating so much meat. Sandy's was perfectly done. She also had the molten chocolate desert, celebrating Valentine's Day.

Oh yes, before dinner I was doing some banana tree trimming. While doing that, Megan called asking whether we had a bow and arrow that she could have -- I said that we did have one at the cottage and she could use it there, but it wasn't appropriate to using in the city. She's now looking forward to summer at the cottage even more ! I've got to get or make an archery target for that activity !

Another day was done.

I've steered away from mentioning anything, but Sara had an ultrasound the prior day at 7w2d ... heartbeat at 130, everything on target. I've steered away from mentioning this because I don't want to introduce bad mojo. We don't know whether to rejoice or be on edge. My heart goes into my throat when I see Jeffrey's number pop up on the telephone call display.

Onward ...
