I had my session with Christie and went for a short ride. I was intending to do my usual but kept it to 25 miles because my knees were feeling the effects of the spread legged squats that she had me doing. With a 300k coming up on Saturday, I wanted to save myself a little, if possible.
Sandy also had her session with Christie and ran some bathroom-related errands, picking up new towel bars / rings as well as getting the mirror cut. As promised, the glass place charged $10 for that work -- of course they had supplied the mirror in the first place so this was follow-on work.
The two of us then went to HD to look at wood -- picked up baseboard to match the existing profile as well as some square cut wood for the mirror frame. That's going to be a bit of a painful exercise that would have been much easier with a table saw. I'll explain more on that later.
Sandy headed over to Publix to pick up some pork chops for dinner but I got to her before she'd left the car because we got an email blast from the Flagler Seafood store that they had just gotten in fresh tuna as well as Arctic Char. She picked up both -- tuna for last night and the Char for tonight. The tuna was excellent, some of the best that we've ever had.
Although there were some storms north of us, nothing hit. Today's forecast is for scattered tstorms and tomorrow for isolated -- I'll tell you later whether that's a significant difference, i.e. will I get wet tomorrow on the 300k. If I do get wet, am I taking refuge from lightening ? The winds tomorrow are supposed to be from the SE which means that it will be a slog getting back south to Indian Harbor Beach. Rats ... but then again it is usually into-the-wind on that route. This will be my fourth time doing that brevet !
Today I'll do some trim work in the bathroom. We'll see how that goes.
Onward !
