My first ride on 522 in a long while. I hate it. However, it is what it is. I only went out for an hour, was planning on going out again today (18th) but stuff got in the way.
Sandy went into Sudbury on Monday, I stuck around and amused Cassie. That's my job. She got in lots of swimming. The sun was out and as long as I was in the sun, the bugs made themselves scarce. I did my one hour on Osprey and 522 and then tweaked my wheel truing job; there wasn't much tweaking to do, so I was pleased.
Sandy brought back the CO2 canister for the bug collector and I just hooked that up. It remains to be seen whether that expensive device does a better job of catching bugs than windows. That's windows lower case. Open windows collects hundreds of mosquitoes across all the windows, stopped in their tracks by the screens but hungry to get in. Close the windows and they're trapped. 12 hours later and they're dead. Simple. On this side of the screen, I'm the bait.
Today I lit up some pic coils and moved Sandy's car into the barn. I wanted to have another go at the brakes. One brake was warmer than another, indicating that it wasn't completely releasing. I also needed to flush the brake lines. Both have now been done and the rotors are cool, man! The brake fluid is clear and not quite colorless. All four brake lines are working well, no issues like I had with the M5. Whew ! That was a litre of DOT4.
I just got a call from Amy at Arnstein Garage and I'm taking the car in a week tomorrow. It "should" only take a few hours to replace both driveshafts/axles. Hopefully he doesn't run into any issues needing extra parts.
Working on Sandy's car this time, I was much more efficient. Jack up both sides, do both brakes, assembly line. Two bad I don't have a lift enabling me to do all four.
I then went into town to pickup the mail and found my new RUSA PBP jersey. It looks great. Frankly I was hoping for ISR patches but would have been surprised if they were here that quickly. Oh well.
What next ? Dunno.
Onward.
