Oftentimes not much is really happening. There's not much of a routine but the days are filled.
This week is one of meetings. Randonneurs USA on Wednesday; Randonneurs Ontario on Thursday; Lost Channel Local Roads Board on Friday. When I was gainfully employed meetings were constant. Now they are irregular and get in my way. Then, conference calls were normal. I was always on the phone. Now I try and avoid the phone or at least live calls.
Because Cassie has been straying outside of her "zone", we've been using the collar. I decided to check it and .. oh oh .. no buzz when I got close to the wire. Check the battery - 1v ... no, 1 volt won't cut it. Replace the battery. 9v ... good. But ...still no buzz. ok, check the transmitter, fix the settings and now we have a buzz ! Of course she doesn't stray far with the collar on anyway. She knows that it's a "bad" thing.
I did some painting - the concrete stairs handrail and yesterday, the bottom 2 siding boards that had lost a lot of paint due to both power washing the deck and from snow piled up during the winter. That close inspection certainly makes me aware of all the tiny patches that are without stain elsewhere. I wish that we had the time ... or a painter ... to do the entire house and deck. Oh well.
Something got into our garbage the night before last. Seems that the bread that Sandy uses for French Toast was the draw. There wasn't much mess, thank goodness, but last night Sandy moved the garbage can to the shed.
Today and tomorrow we pack and prep. Sunday a.m. we leave. Yikes.
Yesterday I had a couple of computer-related issues. I couldn't access many websites. My mouse now times out after seconds and I have to wave it around for it to be recognized again. I've checked everything that might have impacted the mouse without any luck. I suppose that I should try my other bluetooth mouse to see if it's something to do with the mouse or the laptop. As for the website access, that seemed to get better after I rebooted the modem and Netgear router. Who knows.
Onward !
