Mar 14 - trying the new setup

Yes, I went for a bike ride today. I took the old bike with the new setup. What a difference ! The frame-mount rack really lowers the center of gravity making it a much more comfortable ride. I had all the lights mounted and the pack on the rack to approximate what I'd encounter in "real life". The pack wasn't as full as on the last ride, but then it won't be as full this coming ride either. I still don't have the new frame-mount pump but that addition will further reduce the weight that I'm carrying on these long rides.

The wind was from the WSW so I headed south onto Merritt Island. I fully expected to be turned around after the Canal, but was not. When I got down to the T intersection at NASA, however, there was a sign saying that the beach was closed. It's interesting that they've decided to allow vehicular traffic on the road. The trip back was great with a tail wind. I sailed along at 20+mph most of the way.

We had originally thought about going over to the Yacht Club for a drink late afternoon but decided to postpone that until tomorrow and have lunch there. That's the plan at this point and we're sticking to it until it changes. Ha.

Tonight we had Pompano. It was good, as usual. Sandy prepped it with Thyme. Sweet potato fries and asparagus rounded out the menu.

Sandy and Angelika did some running around today, going to the Market this morning, the Post Office to pick up a computer that Arlene mailed to me (and was not delivered the other day because we were not home at the time), and then later in the afternoon they went to the beach. Abby was left out today ... but she'll probably get to the beach tomorrow.

It's morning again. I've finished my coffee and it's almost time for breakfast.

I heard from Jason yesterday who is in Myrtle Beach. This coming week is March Break in Ontario and Lorraine being a teacher, they usually go somewhere. They are only 300 miles north of here, but there is a huge difference in temperature -- mid 60's there today vs mid 80's here. However, mid 60's will feel like summer compared to the cold winter that they've had up north.

That's it.
