Mar 8 - wobble gone

When I put my bike on the stand and spun the front wheel, it was obvious what was causing the slight wobble -- the wheel was out of true. That must have happened when I had a minor collision with another bike early in the ride on Saturday. We made a left turn and he stopped right after the turn; at the same time I looked back to see the street name. It was very minor -- no-one fell down, but my bike was up against his with his pedal between my spokes. That created a very slight out-of-true that would cause the handlebars to wobble slightly if I took both hands off but was not noticeable with either or both hands on the bars. A few minutes in the truing stand fixed that problem.

Otherwise ... I did nothing ... other than two trips to church that is. Sandy worked in the garden, cleaning out Live Oak leaves and putting down mulch.

We had Wahoo for dinner, which was good, accompanied by green beans and barbie-baked potatoes. Just for clarification, that was potatoes baked on the barbie, not baked by Barbie ... oh ... forget it.

It's supposed to be a beautiful day. I should go for a bike ride, but it will probably be short. Sandy is going into Orlando tomorrow to pick up Angelika, so I'll probably go for a "regular" ride tomorrow.

I did fuss with my bike some more yesterday, mostly studying it trying to figure out how I would attach my tail-light configuration if I didn't use the rack. I've also been looking at frame-mount bike pumps because my current combination of small pump, CO2 pump and multiple CO2 cartridges weighs a ton and takes up a lot of space. Aaron had given me a carbon-fiber frame pump last year that I find will fit perfectly in my new bike (the fork due to arrive tonight) but does not fit my Classic / Brevet frame. Park Tool has a pump that might just do the job. That would get rid of a lot of crap and save some weight. I'm on a mission to do the next big ride with a fully equipped, but lighter bike. On the tail-light issue I could probably just leave the rack on without the bag, if it came to that. The rack gives me the ability to bungee some excess clothes to it ... of course that depends on the weather forecast too -- I might need it all if there is rain in the forecast, so I won't get too carried away.

That's it for now ...

Oh -- one thing to mention -- there is supposed to be a shuttle launch later this week -- an evening launch -- so we're keeping our fingers crossed.
