Jun 23 - around Rome

I spent the day with Hamid and Shab, around the hotel and then a little touring later.  Hamid crashed on my 2nd bed for a snooze; Shab somehow managed all day long. We went to the registration area at Mirage which is also the ride end.  The start is closer at Massimo.  Hamid and I rode there this morning to check it out (I'd already been there two days earlier) and took a circuitous route back.  Naturally it's hot.  Very hot.

After getting back from registration around 8pm, Shab was keen on going to the Trevi Fountain.  I wasn't, a wave of tiredness hitting me.  However, we went and I was glad that we did.  We had an excellent meal a block from the fountain and saw the crowds ... and attending police ... police everywhere ...

I'm just about ready, or as ready as I'll ever be.  It's going to be one hot & hilly ride.  My poor hydration habits are likely to catch up with me, oh oh.

I talked to Sandy a couple of times yesterday, such is the beauty of wifi calling.  I'll be largely out of touch for the next few days, not sure if I'll be able to do any quick blog updates.
