Still skunked ... well, I did lose a minnow to a small bass; at least they're alive down there. I'll go out again shortly and change spots, try my luck again.
It's hot. It's supposed to be hotter here, today, than New Smyrna Beach. Day after day heat; unusual.
I had a couple of branches down up by the barn as well as a few long pieces in the to-be-split-and-piled area, so I fired up the chainsaw for a few minutes and dealt with those. This stuff is all very dry and I may just move it to the woodpile by the house.
Sandy is getting to know quite a few people on the road with her regular walks. One couple, the May's (if I've got that right) - Ron and Anne Marie - were supposed to drop in around 5pm yesterday for a glass of wine but were no-shows. Perhaps they forgot, perhaps they didn't know how to get hold of us ... whatever. We were out there and it was hot. I can't remember getting that much use out of the gazebo at this time of year ... nor can I remember so many mosquitoes being active this time of year ! The autumn crop of black flies seems to have disappeared; there are no horse or deer flies now; there are those pesky housefly sized flies that are annoying and do bite.
The A/C is actually getting some use.
I spent a chunk of time updating financial accounts on Quicken. I sure wish that the Canadian accounts would update automatically ... and they would if I maintained two separate Quicken accounts. It's enough hassle to make you simply use the US credit cards !
Today ... Mass in Britt and perhaps getting out for a ride again although I cut into riding time by the time that I'm back. Tomorrow, we're supposed to go to Barrie for dinner. We'll probably do some grocery shopping as well.
Onward !
