There was a little bit of a roll earlier but fairly calm now. The ferry has definitely lost its charm. I'm happy that we have the cabin, even though it's $60 extra.
The pre and post is interesting in Newfoundland. When we arrived a few days ago, we had an entry form check, albeit perfunctory, similar to our arrival in Nova Scotia. I'm expecting much the same when we reenter NS and when we enter PEI.
Exiting Newfoundland is another matter entirely. There's a full agricultural check. No soil, plants, veggies etc etc can be transported from Newfoundland to the mainland. More than that, you drive through an area where they're prepared to water blast your vehicle should you be covered in mud, with huge vacuums to presumably clean out truck beds etc.
I did see a stowaway housefly on board though …
The last time we were on deck 5, car out in the sun. This time we are on deck 3, enclosed. It looked busier heading west than east but I'm not certain of that. There is a deck 1 for vehicles and they have ramps loading multiple levels at the same time.
We've got an easy day planned. It was a two hour drive to the ferry and we did see a moose. At the NS end our hotel is right there. Sometime in the last couple of hours we gained a half-hour so we're off Newfie time and on Atlantic time. We are supposed to arrive at 6pm.
Westward Ho, or perhaps that's Southward. No matter.
