March 3 -- some good news !

It's raining today. Time to take a break from the bike -- interestingly enough, it's not raining in Sebastian -- it's cloudy and/or sunny in south Florida and about 10 degrees warmer. Oh well, it's time for a break anyway. I have already logged 1,973 miles since arriving here January 20th -- I'm doing my duty !!

I picked up Abby this morning from Kelly's -- as usual she went crazy as if I'd been gone for weeks -- but she is always like that. She slept with the big dogs last night on her blanket -- she seems comfortable at Kelly's now.

I just heard from the place where I took the boat for repairs -- all that it needed was the carburetor cleaned. That's good news. I'll be picking it up shortly -- don't know what they will charge me yet, but cannot be too much. We'll take it out for a spin this week.

I got the Parallels workstation working on the Mac -- now have XP fully working (or at least as far as I can discern) and Quicken installed and working. That's great news because I can manage our financials from the road. I'm using a 15 day trial now and will likely purchase the package, $79, once I've played with it some more over the next ten days. They also have a version that runs on Linux -- which would be a great solution overall. I enjoy playing around with this stuff and look forward to updating my Linux setups.

The guy came today to look at the kitchen and gather our input so that he can provide a quote -- we're going to redo the kitchen later this year -- cabinets and counter -- and incorporate wine storage etc. He seems top-notch. We'll get a quote for the master bath work at the same time although we may hold off on that -- the original plan was to do that in year three.
