Sunny and cool day today with the temperature just getting over 60 and the wind from the N at 12-15 mph while I was headed north, and then <10 while I was headed south. A good day to wear my vest.
Another flat -- these tires have just about had it. I have new tires being shipped -- Specialized Armadillos, which I hope will roll well and I'll get another pair for the cross country ride. I've been happy with the Specialized Mondo Pro tires but they are just about worn out and the ride organizers recommend a kevlar belted tire.
Traffic was heavy everywhere -- bike-week bikes and additional car traffic because this was a workday -- but not quite as busy at the two spots with jammed traffic yesterday.
The last parts arrived for Alex's pc, so I got those installed -- just a couple of cables. I'll have to get it packed up, or at least out of the way, before the end of the week when Jason & Lorraine arrive, since Kim will be sleeping on the pull-out in the den.
We have started to make arrangements for when we go north -- dentist appointment for me and hair appointment for Sandy -- the next 3.5 weeks will go quickly. It also looks like we have a relatively finalized schedule for when we go west -- visiting George Cederholm, Arlene and Alice Pao prior to setting out on the ride.
Nutrition -- 1.5 water bottles (cool riding); 2 gels; some liquified carb-boom.
Ride stats -- 70.25 miles; 16.4 mph
