April 16 -- back in the USA

I left Arlene's place at 6:30 this morning, riding north. Sandy left around 8:30 and caught up to me about 5-7 miles after the checkpoint. It was interesting at the checkpoint -- they made me wait for the cars in front of me, but then, obviously, simply waved me through. I could not carry much in my pockets !

There was a one hour wait at the border, which was a bit of a bummer, but it could be worse. We got to George & Geri's about 4:45 after making a small side trip to a wine store that I found on the internet -- Wine Styles -- right in Peoria.

It was good riding today -- I almost wished that Sandy had left a couple of hours later -- but you never know, so you make your bets and move on.
