I suddenly realized that this is the first-ever vacation that we have taken where "visiting" is the bulk of the trip -- usually our vacations are by ourselves and if there is anyone that we know, it's a coincidence.
On the road again ... to Arlene' house in Hemet CA (well, actually in San Jacinto, but close enough). I decided to take a scenic route -- following the biking route that George had come up with for yesterday, taking 99 East to Lake Pleasant then following that north to 74 west -- and then actually going to Lake Pleasant. It is a lovely spot, a large man-made lake, with camping and boating.
After seeing Lake Pleasant, we continued West along 74 and 60 to Wickenburg. Wickenburg is where we end up after the third day of biking -- and continuing West on I10, we passed Blythe CA (end of second day of biking) and Thousand Palms CA (end of first day of biking) before getting off I10 at Beaumont to get to Hemet.
In Wickenburg we picked up a selection of cheeses etc. for lunch and ate those at the last rest stop on I10 before hitting the CA border.
After we got to Arlene's she went and picked up the kids from school and once Ernie was home, we went out for dinner.
Now ... it's time for bed. G'night all.
