There were a number of the bikers still in evidence at breakfast but they were mostly heading out. We were probably among the few staying two nights.
Of course we were staying two nights because we were heading out with Ched Miller for a boat ride. He docks his boat at a marina less than a mile from the hotel so the location was ideal. His was one of the few boats already in the water -- apparently they are slow this year due to Merimack river flooding.
Ched has a 26' Four Winns bowrider with an inboard/outboard volvo engine. It's quite a comfortable boat with a mini head and lots of comfy seats. We met up with Ched at 9:30 and had a long boat tour of the area and then met up with his wife Elaine for a late lunch. Elaine left her car at the restaurant to be picked up later and rode back to the marina with us in the boat.
It was a great day for a ride -- the ocean was flat calm due to the offshore wind -- and it was hot -- high 80's -- while you were close to shore; cooler when you were far enough out to get the effect of the cooler ocean water which was in the mid 50's.
After the boat ride we headed back to the hotel, showered and changed and then went over to Ched's for dinner. He lives about 1/2 hour from Amesbury. We made it a fairly early night because we were planning on driving north early Saturday morning and Ched and Elaine still had to run over to the restaurant to pick up the Elaine's car.
