Not great weather for cycling, threatening rain all day with the occasional sprinkle and windy and cold ... so I did some cleaning up in the basement, moving scrap to the burn pile and other wood to the barn. I then spent the bulk of the day building a small woodshed to sit on the concrete pad by the back door (that didn't take long) and then filling it with wood. It holds about 2.5 cords of firewood -- the same as last year but last year I covered it with a tarp which made getting at the wood difficult. I have less than 2 cords left up in the woodshed by the barn. I'm waiting for Halle Brooks to deliver this year's wood which will age to next year.
There is also an addendum on pool tables -- I forgot to mention that I was able to lift the table at Costco -- at least one end -- so I figure that it was something between 200 and 300 pounds if I could lift one end (but not easily). This is a 4x8 table.
In comparison, there was a pool table advertised at the antique market by a private seller that came from a pool hall -- 6x12 (now that's a pool table !) and the advertisement went on to mention that the table comprised 5 separate pieces of slate 1 inch thick each weighing 350 pounds -- that's 1,750 pounds for the slate alone !! -- I wonder what the entire table weighs ??!! The felt had been replaced etc. and he was selling it for $4,000 ... nope.
