Dec 11 - more stuff

I forgot to mention that I was watching the gas prices yesterday and found the following:

-- the best combination price was at the 7-11 downtown Titusville -- $1.59/$1.69/$179.
-- the lowest price overall was an off-brand station advertising regular at $1.54
-- the most outrageous were two stations with prices in the $1.70 range with premium clearly marked at $2.99 -- did they just think that they could sell of old stock at that price ?

Another thing that I forgot to mention is that part of my problem yesterday was a very worn rear tire. I changed it out this a.m. The front still has lots of life left in it; I can still see the siping.

I've started another project, one that I started once before but never finished -- that of indexing my photos. They are all posted by year but if I have to think -- what year did we do X ? -- I have nowhere quick to check. Luckily this is faster than watching videos but still would be ultra boring doing it all at once. I sent an email to Philip this morning stating that the only memories that I'm sure of are digitized -- I check my photos and blogs often to see what we were doing.

Jason's approach is different -- he keeps a journal up at the cottage -- I don't know if he does something similar in Brantford. I never delete emails; I never delete Quicken financial history; I've scanned all my pictures; now I have my blog -- these are all crutches. I use them all the time !

It's 10 a.m. and it still has not started raining. There I was out at 6:30 in the dark putting the cover on the boat -- foolish person that I am. The doppler shows a huge storm about to hit ... but not yet.

-----------

We did eventually get rain and then, much later in the day, the sky turned blue and the temperature dropped to the low 60's. Sandy and I did some Christmas shopping; Sandy wrote Christmas cards; I ram some errands; we had dinner (Mangrove Snapper); we went, with Abby, for our nightly after-dinner walk; another day was done. That's the short story.

There is no long story. Oh yes, we watched a movie -- now that we are finished watching my Dad's videos we are watching the two movies that I bought at amazon.com -- the two Stargate movies. Last night we watched the first one and it was good. The reviews had been mixed but we like the characters so much that it is a treat. One of the features of the DVD is a fan-q&a session with the main characters -- it was a delight. We started watching the movie around 4:45 and by the time we'd watched the movie and all of the additional material it was 7:45, so we had a late dinner.

Two more days -- today and tomorrow -- and we're outta here. It's supposed to be cool today but I'll go for a bike ride anyway. Tomorrow I'll be busy packing, attending Mass at 4pm, Sandy will clean the place, we'll go out for sushi ... you get the idea. Sunday, early, we'll hit the road.

I cannot tell whether Abby is looking forward to the trip or not -- she has not said anything.

That's it ...
