Dec 28 - daylight update

Well, I don't have to worry about shoveling snow off any roofs. It's melting at a furious pace -- Donnie's roof is basically clear; Jason's is clear; the barn is clearing; the garage ... well, not yet since it's so flat.

Water is flowing down the lake on top of the ice. Once the temperature drops that water will be under the ice, after all it's more dense, but I expect that the ice will have thinned considerably. Time will tell whether it's safe enough for walking and ATV'ing.

The driveway is mostly clear down to the barn and mostly down to the garage, but there are a few icy patches. Those will likely be gone by the end of the day but down at the garage level there could be a lot of surface mud so I'll keep the car at the barn.

Water is flowing everywhere and blowing in the wind (the answer my friend, ... oh never mind). Windy ... yes ... out on the lake it looks like the rain is just going sideways. At this point it's all rain but later in the day it will change to snow and taper off. I don't know if we'll do any ice fishing today. Even if the ice is safe it's hard to walk on with two inches of water on top.

Mya races around like a crazy dog, still sinking in the snow where it's deep, but enjoying the weather just the same. In a few days it will be -25C ... we'll see how she likes that.

See below for yesterday's blog ... this is a two-fer.
