It always does. In a week we'll be leaving -- that's the latest plan. We'll leave here next Sunday, the 14th, arriving at Stef's in Oakville on the 15th, stay the night, go to the St. Lawrence Market first thing on the 16th then I'll head north. Sandy will get her hair cut on the 16th, have her dentist appointment on the 17th and go to the ballet, and I'll pick her up on the 18th. That's the plan.
This plan has several things in its favor -- 1) if we get delayed by a day we don't encroach on the ballet timing; 2) I get to see Stef's new place, rather than just a fly-by visit; and 3) I'll arrive up north in daylight.
I see from the weather prediction that this coming week up there is cold, cold, and more cold, along with snow, snow ... you get the idea. I want to be able to ice-fish so I hope that the snow has not insulated the newly-formed ice so much that we cannot walk on it. Indeed, I am hoping that I can get the ATC's onto the snow but if there is too much snow, and that's probably already the case, I won't be able to get the machines back up the hill !
We watched two more videos last night:
Mar/Apr 92
-- Willie & Flory @ Busch gardens
-- lightning
-- Ethel
-- seniors performing
Jan/Mar 91
-- Willie & Flory at village park, Willie picking grapefruit
-- one of their sons helping Willie (sorry, don't know which)
-- then out in a small boat somewhere, fishing, having sandwiches, talking
-- this is good, Flory has to see this
-- then off in an airplane, and on an island -- Paradise Island ?
-- Flory's daughter Sandra and her husband Corky
-- back in our house in Port Credit for dinner -- all of us, incl Philip's family
-- strange, no place set at the table for Mom & Dad -- no, appears as if we were eating in shifts,
-- we're now looking at breakfast.
We still have 8 or 9 to watch. It's like a marathon, or perhaps a stage race !
It's supposed to be cool today but I'm going to get out for a ride. Cool is all relative -- compared to up north this is not cool ! We expect to get out in the boat on Tuesday which is supposed to be warm. I think that Sandy has a doctor's appointment in Orlando on Wednesday.
I put up some Christmas lights yesterday, hanging off the Live Oak tree that overshadows the house. I need more strings of lights -- I'd brought three down, which is about 90 feet of lights ... I need another three. These are the strings of LED lights that I use up north as well -- 4 watts per string = 12 watts overall -- just a little more power consumption than a nightlight which consumes 7 watts !
I'll be heading over to Mass shortly. Gotta run ...
