Jon Anderson. Yes. Yes the rock group. I've been listening to them so much lately their music is constantly in mind ... forever when I hear their music I'll think of biking. Right now I have Yes and Steely Dan loaded up on my little MP3 player for riding. I haven't used the player for a Brevet though -- except for the dead of night on those 600's.
I'd say that "The Ladder" is my favorite album at this point. "Union" comes next, although Union reminds me of working in my darkroom in Philly -- I had that CD in the CD player and it got a lot of use. After that probably "Talk" and then they blend together.
-------
Yesterday ... completed the area at the bottom of the stairs. It seems that I spent as much time protecting the table saw from the rain as I did actually using it, but managed to rip the 3/4" tongue-and-groove wood to box the two beams, put up the grid in the small area -- roughly 6'x'6 -- fish a wire through to the existing ceiling light so that there's a pot light in this area too, etc. The carpentry work took more time than the suspended ceiling.
Next, onto the darkroom. I'd leave it for now except that I have all this stuff on the floor, tools out etc. Nothing will happen today, however, since I'm off to Toronto to get my new caps, finishing off the dental work started last week. Abby is coming along for the ride, will spend some time with Mya. I've got a bunch of stuff to take back to Home Depot, ranging from one thing that I've had for over a year to much more recent purchases -- unused (naturally) flexible ducting, plumbing parts -- I had bought extras for projects not wanting to run out. With HD being more than an hour in any direction, it's wise to not be out of parts.
While at HD I'll pickup up another package of 6 pot lights -- two for the bedroom closet, two for the darkroom and perhaps two for the pantry closet at the base of the stairs, whenever I get around to that. I'll think on this a bit more on the way down. There's no other neat way to complete the bedroom closets, likewise the darkroom. A six-pack is the same price as four individuals, plus the six-pack pots are better since the light itself can be adjusted up and down (I found that out yesterday to my annoyance when I installed the one at the bottom of the stairs which was my only individual purchase. Had I planned ahead a bit more, I'd have bought the six-pack and not the individual -- I changed my mind along the way about how I was going to handle things. I may still change my mind ...
I'm hitting the road ... and it's sunny. That figures. It rained most of the day yesterday -- of course I'd have been inside anyway, trying to get this job completed.
Sandy is going into Sudbury today for another physio appointment. She's doing better than Jim Matthews at this point -- his neck is still bothering him. Oh -- and Deloris Robinson is in the Sudbury hospital -- Sandy is going to visit -- they think that it's her appendix, which is unusual for a 79-year-old woman ... I hate to say this but I don't think that she's going to last long. I shouldn't even put that in writing ... but ... she's so frail and being alone takes the incentive out of life at that age. She would do much better in an assisted living facility with people around, but for that she needs to sell the cottage; for that she needs her kids' help; for that she needs to accept her kids' help. It's like catch-22, only catch-66. I hope that I'm wrong.
On a more cheerful note ... I'm off ... perhaps I'll listen to a little YES on the way to Toronto ,,, makes me feel so positive !
