June 11-14 - Shenandoah 1200 ... check !!!!

I don't have time right now to do a proper blog on the ride. it was an awesome experience ... and will feel better once the pain goes away !

I rode by myself on day one, getting into Harrisonburg at 9pm. The next day was the longest -- I rode with Juan and Andy for the rest of the ride (more on them in a later blog); we left at 2am and arrived in Mt Airy NC at 11:30pm. Next -- heading north again, we left at 4am and arrived in Harrisonburg at 11pm. Today, the shortest, we left at 4am and arrived at 2:45.

The only times that matter in this, as long as you don't miss a cuttoff, are the start and finish - 4am on the 11th and 2:45pm today -- 82:45 total time. We got a solid 3 hours sleep each night -- it was too long a ride, at least for me, to go completely without sleep. A total of 5 hours at the overnight stops gave us a comfortable margin with some hours "in the bank" as it were, in case anything went wrong on the way.

I've got packing to do and we will head for Florida in the a.m. Riders are still out on the course so I'll go see a few more come in.

.... Later ...
