I was going to title the blog "ready to roll" but that truly would sound like a broken record. Yes, I'm ready to roll.
We're at Stef's now, having arrived at 4pm. The trip was uneventful. I went off to the nearest "great clips" for a haircut while Sandy took Kat home. Back just before 5:30, I had a quick shower and we left for downtown. We'd made arrangements to have dinner with Alnasir and Nimet and I was worried that it would take us more than an hour to get there. Sure enough, traffic was a bear with two different accidents along the way ... we arrived at the restaurant closer to 7pm than our intended 6:30. Thank heavens for cell phones -- they were a bit late too and knew that we were on our way.
We had a great visit. It's been about a year since we've seen them. They are both still working, happy and healthy. Nasrin (sp?) is living at home, working at Toronto General Hospital. She has a Masters degree in public health. Sickin is also working, at the moment it escapes me where, and is likely going back to school in the fall. Her boyfriend (they live together and are engaged) works in a management position at Zellers / The Bay. They intend to get married next summer or fall. Alnasir is struggling to keep the guest list under 400 ... sheesh.
We ate at our sushi restaurant across from the Harbour Castle. It's been a couple of years since we've been there. It was great as always, unlike our last disapointment at our sushi restaurant in Florida.
What else ... hmmm ... we headed home around 9pm and were back here at 9:30. Thank goodness that the trip back was quicker than the trip in !
I've got to get dressed now. Sandy has opted to come over to Erin Mills with me to keep the car. She's planning on going to the market with Kylie and Lauren today and then off to Michael's for the family party celebrating my Uncle Phil's 80th birthday and they're 55th wedding anniversary.
I'll be riding. By the looks of things I'll be wet -- not to start, but I'll get dumped upon with thunderstorms sometime today and tomorrow.
That's it. Don't expect to hear from me for a couple of days.
