It was a (not so) busy day.

I went fishing in the morning. A little late start, but productive all the same, I brought home a nice bass. I went out in the evening as well, again a late start so I just went to the point, brought home three nice bass and a crappie. There's two notable things in there -- 1) I've never caught crappie over here at the point and they usually travel in schools ... hmmm; 2) After the first bass, the other two and the crappie were caught on those rubber minnows with the attractant.

I watched the two Tour de France stages as well, skimming through the boring bits. That's over for another year and I've reset my Starchoice / Shaw Direct channel selections. There's no point in paying for all these sports channels that I don't watch !

I made contact with True North Cycles -- a custom shop in Guelph that could add rack mounts to my Litespeed frame. I was hoping that it would be a quick exercise ... and it will be, for them, but I have to strip the bike first (all parts off the frame) so that they can purge it with Argon (?), before they do the welding. That means that I cannot do this before the Granite Anvil. Oh well ... perhaps my objective should be to carry less stuff ??? I will get this done after the GA though.

I called, but didn't get a callback yet, Peter White Cycles. I had moisture get into my LED light and I want to know a) why this happened and b) how do I get rid of it. It's a sealed unit. I'll call them this morning again.

Speaking of which, I did clean my bike. That took some time. Sandy said that it rained during the day, which I didn't notice ... must have been cleaning my bike downstairs at the time.

Bonnie and Sally came over (Sally is Jim's sister) and visited before dinner; Jason and Lorraine visited after dinner. They almost got hit by Donnie who was rushing out on Osprey, so that was a lively conversation. Claudia was following in the SUV; another car was waiting for them as Donnie got out to apologize ... Stillar the plumber never came to fix Donnie's pump ... it's quite the story.

By the sounds of things Stan's driveway is done and his sign moved. Another shared driveway has bitten the dust on Osprey. That's a long story that won't make the blog but the short version is that Jim told Stan that the shared driveway might be a problem for any new owners, since their property is now officially up for sale; Stan decided to go ahead and do the driveway thing. Decision to fact took record time -- Dale Brooks was in the area and did it right away.

Sandy went into Port Loring for a massage. That seems to be helping her back but she's still in a lot of pain. She's going into Sudbury tomorrow to grocery shop. My plan is to go biking tomorrow while she's gone.

For dinner we had halibut, zucchini from the garden and something else that I cooked on the barbie ... not potatoes, not rice, ok, I'm stumped ... oh -- corn on the cob. It took more time than expected so the meal was a bit disjointed and then I rushed out to fish.

Today ... I'm going to tackle those windows, trimming them out. Hopefully I can get that accomplished in one day. Hopefully the predicted thunderstorms will hold off or I won't. We'll see. it means moving lots of tools outside -- miter saw, table saw etc. Speaking of projects -- I mounted the additional ceramic triangular soap/shampoo/whatever shelf in the shower downstairs. I'll give it another 24 hours before sealing with silicone. It's mounted with the PL glue.

The water is very high right now from all the rain on the weekend. Our dock is floating free off its step.

That's it in this hodge-podge collection of small stuff ...
