Good shingles are the ones on the roof of the woodbox. I did that chore this morning. Bad shingles are the ones that Jeffrey had -- the adult version of chickenpox.
Back to the future ... on the way to Guelph yesterday I saw a DeLorean that had some weird things on top of its back end that made it look like the Michael J Fox version. That was the only noteable thing about the driving day - everything went like clockwork, no delays into Toronto, none leaving - even though I took the 403/401 leaving the dentist at 3:30.
Prior to the dentist, I did go to the optometrist. For biking glasses she was recommending the Adidas glasses that come in many flavors. Specifically she was recommending the "multi sport" version. The progressive RX lenses attach to the nosepiece behind the sunglass lens. I'm thinking about them -- seemed comfortable -- but will bring in my helmet to try on the pair together. It's an expensive purchase and there's no return if I don't like them !
The dentist appointment was for a cleaning and a checkup. Everything went well.
After I got home we had dinner and then went next door. Bonnie had just arrived so I sat with Jason & Gavin; Sandy chatted with Lorraine and Bonnie. I was the first to call it a night, having left the house at 5am that morning.
I went fishing this morning and got a couple of bass, losing the rest of my 8 or 9 minnows. After fishing, I did the shingling and then went for a bike ride. The headwind was fierce, often keeping me to 10-11 mph on the flat. From the southwest, it made for a great ride back. Today was definitely a day where my legs felt better -- warmed up -- at the halfway point ... but perhaps that was just the fact that I was then traveling with the wind ?!
Oh -- this morning, between fishing and shingling -- I set my minnow traps. After getting home from biking, I had a shower and then went to collect my "booty". it's strange, one trap had 6-8 minnows while the other must have had 3 dozen. The traps were four feet apart in the water, both had the same bait, i.e. bread ... interesting.
It's supposed to rain overnight. If it's clear in the morning I'll go out again. Hopefully I'll be able to take Lauren out when they get here -- oh yes, Stef et al are coming tomorrow and we're expecting them to be leaving on Saturday. Before that, Jason & Lorraine & Gavin will be leaving. The summer is over. Kim comes back from the UK on September and Lorraine has to go into school next week. We won't see them again until sometime in October, since we will be leaving after Labor Day for NYC NY / Reading PA / Florida and returning early in October.
That's it for now. -- nothing too exciting. I forgot to mention that it looks like True North Cycles did a good job on the rack mounts. If I have time tomorrow I'll rebuild the bike.
