The Endless Mountains 1240 is over. The ride, starting at 4am on Wednesday, completed last night with a 93 hour time limit, give or take. I've been watching progress and noted that Judith, along with many others, had dropped out. The final finish rate was below 50%. The weather was awful -- I think that they had the dreaded "mixed precipitation" as they call it up north, i.e. rain and sleet. Yucch. She's probably traveling back today and I'll probably exchange emails with her before I get back to NSB in November.
Vincent -- the fellow that Geoff and I rode with at the Granite Anvil -- completed. He was one of the early ones through at 86.something hours. Henk, usually quite a fast rider, came in at 91.something. He may have been riding with a group, it's hard to tell.
All in all it sounds like a very tough ride. Of course that doesn't make me feel any better about not being there but I'll take some comfort in that fact. Cold and wet are a bad combination at the best of times.
