Some touch-up, paint the wood box, put away ladders, garbage etc. ... we're now officially finished. Today it has started to sprinkle, so timing was perfect.
... and that was pretty much my day. I did some preliminary organizing of my biking stuff for the trip and attached the roof carriers -- the latter not an easy thing. It seems that one of my Thule feet has seized due to rust. It not only seems, but it had and efforts to get the screw adjustment working were for naught, finally bending the internal parts. Oh well ... thank heaven for bungee cords, since that's how that foot is now attached to the car rails !
The roof rack is necessary to carry the bike box. It fits in the car, but not with Abby.
We ate with Jason, Lorraine, Mike and Kim, having been invited over for dinner. Shishkabob (no, not Babushka which spell check is trying to put here) beef with veggies grilled separately, baked potatoes and salad ... we ate and drank well. I opened two bottles of Bordeaux, both of which I'd sampled for the first time when George was here. I've now made a note on my wine-cellar wine list of the one that is heavy on the cab ... quite good. I have ten more of those !
I also went into town and picked up the mail. My Ontario Randonneurs jersey was there, so I'm all set for PBP ... not ! Yikes ... we only have three more days here !
Anyway, today was supposed to be another biking day but the clouds don't look very cooperative. I haven't checked the Doppler but the spots on the deck earlier didn't give me a lot of confidence.
Onward !
