Aug 16 - on the road

On the road yesterday and tonight in the air. 
 
It was a fairly easy drive yesterday, other than from north of Pembroke to Arnprior -- lots of construction - and from the U.S. border back to Carol's.  There was a detour due to road construction in PQ but worse than that, we didn't know the way to camp.  Back and forth, back and forth, Sandy talked to Allister 4 times ?  maybe 5 ?  Eventually we found the road.  I now have it engraved in my memory which will last until just before our next trip here ...
 
We had a huge feed of perch for dinner -- excellent -- four pounds for the six of us.  That'll have to keep me going for a few days because I'm not likely to get fish during the bike ride !
 
I just managed to get the Air Transat web checkin completed, which I was incorrectly feeding the confirmation number rather than the file number.  Duh.  Our flight is actually departing a little earlier now, at 11:30 p.m. vs 11:59 p.m. -- a bonus !
 
It's a beautiful day here in southern Quebec as it was when we left the cottage.  The forecast for the ride now has rain for the first two days ... rats.  Anticipation of the wet is almost as bad as the wet itself.  Somehow I'll manage.
 
There's more ... adventures at the Canadian border crossing ... but not worth the typing right now.  We'll head for Sheryl's in a bit and cool our heels until after dinner.  By this time tomorrow I know that I'll be exhausted.  I still have to pack my bike.  I should probably ride it to Hemmingford, but probably won't.
