Sep 12 - back to our kind of normal

Everyone's normal is different, of course. We're at the cottage; I'm about to go biking; Sandy is on the phone with Joyce; we're making plans for a Sudbury trip and a Toronto trip -- me biking, Sandy getting hair done. Our kind of normal. We had perch for dinner last night, just as delicious as when we had it with Carol and Allister. They picked up 8 pounds for us and the other 7 are now in the freezer for later enjoyment. The perch filets make crappie look huge, which reminds me that I'll have to get the minnow traps out and do some fishing. The trip yesterday was uneventful, other than some pretty heavy rain and construction around Mattawa. We even made it back before the General Store closed in Loring and picked up mail and some essentials. We were going to do some grocery shopping along the way but then realized that we'd be there in time. We even had 15 minutes to spare ! Life's a beach here ... more beach than I've ever seen. The water is really low ... I had to do a double-take thinking that I might have been in Daytona, with such a huge beach ... well, that is exaggerating of course. I need more water to be able to move my dock into the cove, so I hope that we get some rain. This morning's activities were varied -- fix computer (drive repair, not sure why I had some errors but luckily the Linux file system is a journaling system so it can self-repair, just takes some time. I got my bike together, no worse for the wear. I'll have to get the wheels on the truing stand and make some minor adjustments but that won't stop me from riding in the meantime -- hopefully today although it's getting kind of dark out there right now. What else ... not much. I did put a fire on this a.m. because that makes it more cozy, not because it was really cold in here. It's dying down now. Onward !
