Sep 4 - Corvara

We are back in the castle, back in the castle where Catherine Shenk and I spent the last night of the Mille Miglia last year. I hoped that we could get one of the apartments, because we were not able to book online and thank goodness we were successful.

We were both scenery'd out by the time we got here. Winding roads and small towns, walled cities or not, eventually overcome your senses.

We stopped for almost two hours in the most amazing of them all - San Gimignano. I remembered it from the ride, thinking that I have to come back to this place in daylight. We had ridden through at about 6:30 am.

We will stay here three nights, in our castle-apartment before heading to Venice, Zurich, Paris and home.

We don't have internet service in our room but can access in the lobby for a couple of Euros per hour or something like that. We'll have to do so to book our ongoing hotels.

Today and tomorrow we will explore this area and the nearby Mediterranean coast. We ate here in the hotel last night and will probably do the same again tonight. We are in the middle of nowhere ...
