I watched a Warehouse 13 episode on Netflix, discovered that X-files is there and watched the pilot with Sandy, went to HD and picked up some water softener salt. There were two other items on my list but the first was out of stock (gallon can of WD40) and they didn't have a ready solution to the other in plumbing. I looked at, but didn't do anything about, adding sprinklers for the flower garden. I'm still pondering that project.
Why on earth would I want a gallon can of WD40 ? Well, as I mentioned to Aaron in an email, I'm using that for chain cleaning (bicycle). I'm finding that flooding the chain repeatedly with that product and wiping down the bike vs washing with cleaner has vastly improved chain and bottom bracket life. The BB, by the way, is the spindle + bearings to which cranks (pedals) are attached. It's not really a bracket ... but that's what it's called. WD40 by the gallon is a lot cheaper than in aerosol cans.
Sandy picked out paint for the living room and dining room (same) that will be necessary once Tim gets here and finishes the wall. I'm going to do some patch work today in areas that I'm not having him look at. We're trying to minimize the amount of painting so she picked a white that goes with the existing paint on the trim.
She also picked up a gallon of deck paint, matching what Riley already had down. It's peeling / bare spots developing all over. I expect that will be a regular job with the beating that it takes from the sun. I think that I'll just roll it on, the wood is in rough shape anyway and I'm just prolonging its life.
Traffic was busy, everyone doing their pre-Thanksgiving travel and/or grocery shopping. A lot of Orlando people have "beach houses" or condos in NSB so for those getting together with families here, that was their travel day. The main grocery store in this area, Publix, is closed today, Thanksgiving. From last year I remember that Food Lion is open, but I think they have short hours. I don't know about Winn Dixie nor do I know about the big box stores like Home Depot, WalMart etc.
The WalMart on SR44 closest to us closed a couple of days ago. It was one of the old style small stores. They stayed closed for one day and then re-opened at the new Supercenter at SR44 and I95. It's not quite as convenient but then again, I hated that little WalMart because parking was problematic, the store was crowded etc. etc. Perhaps I should visit the new store tomorrow ? Not on your life, I'm not going anywhere near any place that might have Black Friday specials, other than online shopping !
Today, depending on the weather, I might do some of that deck work and/or inside work. I'm taking a couple of days off biking, probably go out tomorrow. We'll see.
Onward !
