... there was the boat parade. Quite good this year, we watched from the SYC Tiki with a huge crowd. We got rained upon for a few seconds but that blew over before the boats started coming. Burgers and fries, beer and wine, lighted boats ...
Harris and Debbie were there from our street, invited over by friends. We were reminded of last year sitting in virtually the same spot but without the crowds, seeing the first boats go by and then rushing over to 106 Keely to join Riley and Dolly. They still owned the house at that point; we had a deal but hadn't closed yet. They invited us over to see the boat parade.
Riley's realtor was at the Tiki as well and we chatted with her for a while. There may have been others that we knew or met but we hung onto our seats, good ones at the dock railing. Sandy had been watching the Tiki with binoculars (cheating) to see when crowds were building so that we would get a seat. We did, but it was the last ones.
Sandy and Marda went to the market and did some touring. I went for a bike ride, fighting the wind both ways. Before my ride I finished staining the deck. I've got a little bit of stain left that I'll use for touch-up. In reality I could probably use an entire gallon for touch-up, not on the deck per se but all the surrounding wood.
That was pretty much our day.
Today ... nothing much planned. Tomorrow, I'll probably do my December 200k. I just got back from the gym, a surprising number of people there at 5:15 a.m. on a Sunday. I'd expected to be alone.
At any rate ...
Onward !
