Dec 6 - no Marda, no plaster

Marda and Sandy left for Orlando around 10 a.m. In the meantime I'd called Tim who said that he'd be here around 1pm. Ok, when we initially set this up no time had been specified. Later he called back and said that he'd be here tomorrow (today) 9-9:30.

That's strike one for Tim.

I told him that I needed to be able to paint before leaving for Christmas, and I was leaving on Monday. He said that I'd be able to paint on Friday. Ok, I'll plan on that.

Had we realized that Tim wasn't coming on Tuesday, I'd have done my 200k on Tuesday. We would probably have gone boating on Monday. Yeah right ... who knows :).

It was a beautiful day. After I finished "hanging around" and watching a couple of Torchwood episodes, I went for a Harley ride. Beachside and then out Turnbull Bay Road and Pioneer Trail is a nice cruise. Once home, I took Abby out in the little Whaler. It started right up and purred. I still haven't gone fishing and probably won't until we get back in January. Time is flying by.

By the time I got back with the Harley, Sandy was home. She had planned to shop for a top to wear on Saturday but didn't find anything, did buy shoes. She's had a headache for the past couple of days, cold/flu trying to get through, presumably, so she had a snooze while I went out with Abby.

We heard from Marda around dinnertime that her flight hadn't taken off on time, in fact had a 2 hour delay. We don't know yet when she actually arrived in PA. Hopefully it wasn't too late.

Speaking of dinner, we had leftovers. Turkey, dressing, turnip, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce (Sandy), gravy (Sandy) ... almost a complete repeat of Thanksgiving dinner but without the heavy-duty cleanup ! I've been having turkey sandwiches, as have Sandy and Marda. I have enough dark meat for one more sandwich (today). The rest of the white meat, not much left there either, is going into the turkey soup that Sandy has been brewing.

So ... today is Wednesday. Tim's supposed to be here today and tomorrow. Friday will be painting day. Saturday we have the Christmas Ball at the SYC. Sunday ... packing. Monday ... leaving.

At this point we're planning on stopping at Linda & Alec's in Lexington VA on the way north, that would be Monday night. On Tuesday night we'll likely stop at Stef's. All this depends on the weather, although at this point it looks clear.

I got on the phone yesterday with Verizon again, getting one app to work -- My Verizon. It hadn't worked for a long time. I just needed to do an update. That was easy.
