I ordered this Kroil stuff but haven't received an acknowledgement from the website yet. I should have ordered from Amazon, I guess, because at least there I'll get an ack ! I was tempted to put some Liquid Wrench on the ball joint carrier etc. but thought that perhaps Kroil would do a better job attacking dry than wet.
Another product, LPS KB88, is supposed to be as good but is equally unavailable on a retail basis. I've been tempted to order it ... but haven't.
The "product" that tested the best in my research is a 50/50 mixture of acetone and ATF. No, I haven't tried that. It's one thing for them to do tests on a rusted bolt, quite another where I really need penetration. We'll see, but I'm anxious to continue the project ... get it done !
There are these stupid videos by the manufacturers of these things of penetrating oils poured into styrofoam cups to see which one penetrates the cup faster ... this is totally dumb because if I pour gasoline into styrofoam it dissolves immediately. Give me a break !
Anyway, as much as the X5 is pulling at me to do some more hammering, I did not. I did go for a bike ride on a sunny and warm day, south, into a headwind of course. Sandy spent the day working at the garden.
For dinner we had leftovers -- salmon, the wild rice mixture, couscous and salad. Sandy passed on the couscous. I had a bit. It's totally boring, worse than plain white rice.
That's it ...
Onward !
