Jan 9 - a day on the stair climber

Whew. Between yesterday and today, I must have climbed the stairs a hundred times. We got away, however, in spite of all the climbing, wet snow, freezing crusty snow, etc. etc.

I'm in Starbucks by the St. Lawrence Market now, waiting for Sandy who is getting her hair done. The question is, will I recognize her ? Hope so !

Other than packing, there wasn't really anything of note on the 9th. I changed the tires without problem, the impact wrench sped up the process. I still use the breaker bar to give that final light crank, that way I know that they're tight. I could use the torque wrench, but don't.

I can tell from removing the front wheels that I'm going to be replacing the two lower front control arms. The rubber is going on them. It's not a safety issue, but will get annoying at some point. I brought my "pickle" and large sockets etc. to do the deed when we're in NSB. Routine Maintenance is me !

We had steak for supper, some of the filet that I'd bought for the fondue. It was "ok" -- tender but not really very tasty. Without fat, a filet can be pretty boring, flavour-wise. Perhaps that's why they wrap them in bacon.

My car is easy to spot in the parking lot. It's filthy. Everyone else seems to have a clean car. I don't think that I'm going to have enough time to do a quick spray wash on the way to Stef's and the dentist, but if there's an extra 10 minutes, I'll be there at Cawthra & The Queensway.

We stopped at David's on the way down and dropped off a couple of food items. We've got some more for Stef. It seemed that the cooler had more of other people's stuff in it than ours. Such is life. Definitely a "first world" problem !

Tonight -- Erie Pa. Tomorrow -- Orangeburg SC. Thursday -- NSB.

Onward !
