I get a kick out of the occasional spam comments to my blogs. It seems that some wording triggers a bot to make a comment. Today it was some flower place advertising ... but even though they get through "Captcha", having to enter the word from the picture before it gets posted, I have the final say to Publish, Delete or Mark as Spam. I'll bet that if I deleted the Captcha requirement, I'd have many many more comments to adjudicate !

Man about the house -- did the lawn ... no swearing ..., replaced the cartridge on the kitchen faucet ... amid lots of swearing ..., I guess that's it. The cartridge replacement was a bear.
Man out of the house -- we Harley'd to bike week, up US 1 and along Beach Street in Daytona to see the festivities, across to Beachside on Main Street, where Megan had ridden with me last year, crawled along on Main and then back home via A1A following my normal bicycle route. That's the good part ...
The bad part is that there have already been 5 deaths this year. There were 6 last year by the time all was said and done. Now out of approximately 500,000 people who come for bike week (according to Wikipedia), that's quite a small fraction, but that doesn't matter if you are one of the five. Yesterday's was a Lincoln Town Car driven by a 76 year old man (blood alcohol test reports still pending ...), who actually drove over the bike and the biker. The biker swerved to avoid the car, went down ... etc.
Now why would the newspaper article say that the alcohol level was still pending if it weren't over .08 with the normal test process ? I have no idea.
My original plan had been to drive to Daytona, have lunch, drive back. Instead we simply kept going, because we were planning, and did, have dinner with Norm and Patti at the club. With temperatures in the low 80's, we roasted with our helmets, long pants, long sleeves and the heat coming up from the bike. We only saw a couple of other bikers with helmets. What I need is a compartment at the back to stow helmets. They don't do much good simply standing around ... move a few feet ... stand around ... move a few feet ... you get the idea. I won't go out on US 1 without a helmet though.
So ... today I'm going out on the un-motorized self-propelled 2-wheel vehicle ... :).
Onward !
