Mar 5/6 - riding, riding

Well, we have two rides under our belt -- three if you count the 25 miles on Sunday. Yesterday we rode west into a headwind and then back with a tailwind, putting in 80 miles. It's unusual to have a west wind. Today the unusual winds continued, but this time primarily east ... and we were brutalized by the strong east wind that sometimes seemed ENE and sometimes ESE. We chose to ride south, doing the usual route through Merritt island.

No DQ yet ... horrors !

The supposedly ENE wind is supposed to continue through tomorrow and Sandy has consented to pick us up at the west coast of Florida. Jerry and I did that ride his first trip here and then I set it up as a Permanent, but haven't ridden it since.

This morning a nurse was supposed to show up at 7:30 to take blood & urine, pulse & blood pressure. This is because I'm trying to replace the Towers Perrin Group life policy that I have now with something cheaper. My premium will jump at the end of this year due to age and I want to replace the existing policy with two term policies -- one for 10 years and one for 15. Of course to do this, a physical is required ... thus the hassle. I went through this when I setup the existing insurance as well.

Anyway, after doing all the 12 hour fasting and rearranging my training session with John (swapping with Sandy), she didn't show. She'd marked her calendar wrong, basically double booking herself for Thursday. We are now rescheduled for Friday ... perhaps I'll call her Thursday night and confirm !

That's about it ....

Onward !
