Apr 14 - from south to north

Oh give me small airports ! Orlando Sanford to Niagara Falls -- what a delight ! The only problem, of course, was the rental car not being open at NF and having to shuttle over to BUF ... but oh well.

It was a smooth, easy flight, arriving 15 minutes early into NF. I read half a Jeffrey Archer book that Sandy bought in Europe, tried to snooze a little but wasn't successful. When I finally had my rental car, I stopped along the way to the border to pick up a sub because there was a long queue going into Canada at both the Rainbow and Queenston/Lewiston bridges and I didn't feel like driving to the Peace Bridge. I figured that their 20 minute wait could very well be longer.

As it turned out, they must have opened all of the lanes sometime after they posted the wait times, because there were only 2-3 cars at each. I sailed through and was on my way.

I'd brought my EZpass with me along with my 407 ETR, so I was prepared for both the Grand Island bridge and the 407. I made it to Stef's around 6:30 and had a little more supper and visited for a while. A little before 8pm, I headed to David's, getting there at 9pm. Kim and Megan had made pizza for dinner so naturally I had some more dinner :).

It wasn't long before we were all in bed.

Today ... Mass at 8am and then later into Toronto for the viewing. I'll do some reading and some more snoozing in between.

BTW -- the rental car ? What soft suspension ! Remind me never to buy a KIA ! I'll live with it for the next few days though. It's brand new, only 900 miles on it. By the time I'm finished, I'll have doubled the miles and then some, probably.

Onward ...
