Well, I don't think that there's going to be much "rest" on which to report.
It occurred to me that I should check the brakes on the M5. Well, there's a lot of pad left. Nothing needs to be done there. The shock absorber boot has come loose from its base on the wheel that I checked though, so at some point I should probably use a pipe clamp to hold it in place, stop dirt from getting into that nice shiny shock. That's just an age thing.
This car is now the oldest car that I've ever owned, I think. Yes, the more that I think about it, the more I realize that I've never had an 11 year old car. The X5, although not the oldest (the M5 is older) has the most miles of any car that I've owned.
What else did I do ... oh, that Hummer feels so heavy when I move it around, but it's only 27 pounds, which is without water bottles and clothes. Those will add a few more pounds, probably taking me to 35 if everything was wet.
Nothing ?

I'm up again, and will be up for at least the next 30 hours. I'm pretty well packed for the Fleche, bike loaded with spare clothing - heavy jacket, long sleeved jersey, leg warmers ... believe it or not. The temperature is supposed to get down to 49F and if we're cruising along and stopping a lot, and there's always the chance of rain, you can get cold.
It's blowing like a banshee out there, from the NE. Our first leg, 40km, is west, so that should be ok. From there we head north, and then more west and ultimately south but that's in the wee hours and hopefully it will have calmed down by then. Regardless, since our time commitments are minimal, wind won't be a problem.
I see from Ruth's Facebook that she's already in NSB at a B&B just down the road. With four bikes in the truck, I expect that she's brought hers, Keith's and Bill's ... not sure whose the fourth is. All will be clear soon :).
Got to get moving ... Onward !
