Feb 8 - about the bike

There have been a few biking-related things going on that I've forgotten to blog about.

I decided this year to switch back to the Grand Bois tires even though the Conti 4-Seasons served me well.  The GB's are easier rolling and more supple, providing a more comfortable ride.  It's all about comfort, ya-know !  Three tires arrived in the mail yesterday.

I'm going to try cycling sandals.  These have cleats just like the biking shoes.  They might help with the numbness that develops in my toes that is due to insufficient metatarsal arch support (I think).

I'm retiring a helmet, the one that I bought just before riding across the US.  Why ?  Well, because I broke the internal suspension when I crashed last week.  I guess that's a good reason.  Besides, the red had faded into pink and I'm just not into pink !

Sandy decided that she had too much to do for boating, so I did the baseboard.  It needs caulking as well but I'm out of painter's caulk.  Later.  She's out now hunting down some end tables and a coffee table that she saw on Craigslist.  They're both (both listings) up in Palm Coast, about an hour away, so it will take her a while.

I'll head off to Boca Raton around 3:30.  I told Shab that I'd be there around 7pm.  The ride starts at 5am so the day will be shot, with any luck arriving back home before 9pm.

I just trimmed the bananas, which had many dead fronds.  They seem like fronds anyway, like palms, not like leaves.

Oh ... Sandy just arrived ... I wonder what's she's come home with !  Oh ... Kim will have end tables in the front room.  Lucky Kim.  No coffee table for the den though.
