I was up long after my usual time, getting up around 6:15. Mary and John, however, were still on PDT and came down for breakfast around 11:30. Of course they'd been up before that, but they ate breakfast while I ate lunch :).
Prior to that I'd played with that computer config, over and over. This morning I went ahead and pulled the trigger ... hope this works !
There were two deliveries yesterday:
1) the small steel fork crown mount for my light. That only took a couple of minutes to install. It works much better than the nylon version that didn't capture enough threads on the brake retaining bolt.
2) the new helmet. Sigh. This order is jinxed. I'd ordered the black/red and they delivered the white/silver. This is the order that was lost the first time. Why is this so difficult ?
We chatted and chatted. Mary went out with Sandy to the CVS. John and I took Abby for a walk, doing the usual as well as over to the club and back, saying "hello" to Rose. Jim Brendel (stairs contractor) was at the bar; I said hello to him as well.
The club was very busy. It's the Lipton Cup weekend. Lots of sailboats headed out around 8:30 a.m. and were arriving back late afternoon. The Tiki was hopping. Today there are more festivities and more racing.
Today, after Mass, we are going over to the SYC Sunday Brunch. It's the best deal in town. Where else can you get a full Sunday brunch, Mimosas included, for $9.99 ?
Speaking of which, we'll be going to the 9:00 Mass rather than my usual 7:00. It would have been totally unreasonable to ask them to adjust to the time zone change that quickly :).
Mary actually gets around pretty well. The Parkinsons affects her right leg, mostly, which means that she cannot drive any more (gave that up last year) as the right foot would want to bounce on the gas pedal. That wouldn't be good !
That's about it. There's probably more but I don't remember.
Onward !
