I finished up the second computer yesterday, making the internal hard drive bootable and copying everything over to it. I'm running on that now, including windows on VMware. Normally I run off the portable drive but this is a good test of the machine. If I'm going to have any hardware issues, now would be the time !
I'll have to copy any updated files back to the portable drive, which is normally my boot drive, eg. Quicken, Outlook and some of my updated Treasurer files.
I had my session with John -- the shoulder gets a little better all the time. I can now lift 10 pound dumbells overhead, which is HUGE compared to where I was just a few weeks ago. Perhaps, just perhaps, I'll make it through this without having to do anything else -- in fact, if this becomes the plateau, I'd live with it rather than go for surgery.
I ordered and picked up, some parts for Sandy's car and the X5. Sandy's will get new front calipers, rotors and pads; the X5, with any luck, a new thermostat to address that nagging 'check engine' message and, while I'm in there, as a preventative measure, a new water pump. I'll check online today about replacing the latter since I just might pay someone locally to do the two jobs on the X5. We'll see.
Sandy got her hair done yesterday -- looks better than before but she's not happy with it. It will probably be better after she gives it a wash. I need to get my hair cut before heading north as well.
I'm waffling about the ride this weekend because there's more rain in the forecast. Driving one hour to endure 20 hours in the rain is one thing; driving 7-8 hours each way to do the same ... I don't know. The climbing on this ride is huge (20,000+ feet) and in the rain, that would be a B.
Marda arrives today. Sandy picks her up from the airport around noon. We're all happy to see Marda -- we've already told Abby that she's got a friend coming.
Stef & Aaron bought a new (used) car, another white one to match Mya, a VW station wagon. They're still chasing housing in Barrie.
That's about it -- time starting to wind down here; time to make lists of things to do before we leave !
Onward !
