I guess that it's home when you have to say good-bye to friends before you leave ! Dinner with Norm & Patti, Sharon & Kirby; Harris & Debbie; and last, but not least, Jean and Judy. We had planned to go over to the Tiki last night but it was very hot and humid, so we ate inside at the bar instead. I'd checked with Jean beforehand and he preferred the bar so that he didn't have to change :).
When we were ready to leave, it was dumping outside, a clear indication that we'd made the right choice !
I did some packing earlier, washed my biking and workout clothes, drained the fountain, put the boat batteries on charge etc. etc. The battery operation took place after we went boating, of course.
It was busy out there. I don't know if I've ever seen such a stream of boats on the water. The ICW temperature was up close to 80F and the ocean temp around 73. We cruised around for a short while outside of the inlet but then headed for the island, finding a small slot between two other boats where we could park. It was "parking room only" -- that's like "standing room only" at the island. Busy, busy. People, dogs, constant comings and goings.
It was a great end to the season. We haven't been able to get out much in the boat, with the windy fall and cool spring. Since we're going to be back earlier this year, right after Labor Day, I'm hoping that we'll get out more.
Today -- more packing, hopefully biking, Tiki for a drink (say farewell to Rose), dinner at home. At least that's my plan !
Onward ...
