It looks like it will be three days in a row. This is why we stay in Florida later and later each year !
I did get a couple of outside things done, however. I primed and got the lake-water pump going. That supplies water for the garden and anything outside, which includes powerwashing ...
... and I hauled the powerwasher up the hill to the garage and gave the snow tires a going-over as well as Sandy's car. I say every Christmas as I mount the snow tires on the X5 that I should clean them in the Spring because they're caked with mud from the prior year and then run out of balance -- this year I finally did it ! Had it not been for Sandy's car needing some salt removal, I probably wouldn't have. I also washed her snow tires.
I should also, but haven't tackled that, find out why three of Sandy's four tires went flat. I suspect that it's the valves. I'll have to pump them up and take them to the lake if it's not obvious.
As I finished that up, it started sprinkling. I was determined to take Abby for a walk so I did that anyway, heading over to Jim & Bonnie's. Bonnie was home; Jim was out. I visited with her briefly and then made plans to come back over at 4:30, which we did, having a glass of wine / beer. They still have the place in Parry Sound (until October) but aren't sure what they're going to do next winter. They found the tiny condo not the best but I still think that it's better than being cooped up in the cottage with no one around.
I'm forgetting -- the a.m. was taken up with the roads tour with MTO. Prior to that we had Westwind and MNR & MTO at the foot of Smith's Bay road to discuss logging for the upcoming year. It always depends on the price of pine, but there will be logging trucks on Lost Channel next winter and on SB road during the summer as they harvest some red pine.
We had stir-fry leftover marinated beef from the New Year's fondue along with a bunch of veggies and roasted potato wedgies. I could do some of that marinade and pre-package and freeze some beef (and pork) this way. It makes a nice change. The other thing that we find is that you don't need as much meat in a stir-fry as you might eat if it's stand-alone like in a chop or steak, so that's a good thing.
Today -- Sandy is heading to Toronto to have dinner with Joyce. She'll likely look at washer/dryer combos when she goes and might get her hair done. She's also planning on having dinner with Kim and Megan tomorrow and then, I think, coming home that evening ? Not sure about the latter. Given her schedule, I'll likely head to Alliston early Saturday a.m. for the 200k, stay overnight with David that night, do the 200k out of Barrie on Sunday and then back home that night. At least that's the plan that's coming together ...
Onward !
