Jul 20 - the day that never ends

That's the way that these trips are -- a continuous day until sometime tomorrow evening.  It's almost like doing one of my 1200k's !!

I left the cottage at 10:45 and headed south.  Prior to that I'd pulled in the Whaler, did my computer backups etc. etc. and finished the last minute packing details.

My first stop was David's store and who did I spy walking towards me but Kim, her sister and brother-in-law.  Eventually she noticed me waving and we went into the store together, said our hello's and then I headed to Stef's.

I'd left Kim with 3 of my seed bars (one each) so of course I had 4 for Stef.  It will be interesting to get feedback.

Painting is coming along at the new house; furniture is in place; everything looks great.  I did a tour of the pool mechanicals and now understand better what a salt water pool is about.  It's not ocean-salty; rather saline solution salty.  An ionizer splits the sodium chloride and produces chlorine ... an interesting setup.  They just toss a very fine salt into the pool using a salt grinder (just kidding).

Anyway, they've got a great setup and a larger backyard than I'd realized.  It's not the never ending bush of the cottage, but then again I didn't see any horseflies or deerflies !

Onward ... to the airport.  I got to the Park-n-Fly about 3:15; shuttled to the airport; found the small chapel with the aid of an info person and attended the 20 minute service along with about 10 mostly or all airport employees.  From there it was get into the Air Transat queue, which was easy.  Getting into the queue was easy.  It took about an hour to get from there to complete check-in.   Whew.  They must have had a dozen agents, but the queue was huge.

I then spotted a Swiss Chalet advertisement for chicken teriyaki and that piqued my interest.  I'm sitting there now, having eaten same (it was very good) and quaffing a Heineken.  The meal was chicken plus stir-fried crunchy veggies (broccoli, snow peas and such) on a bed of rice.  It will hold me for a while.

Next up ... through security.  I've still got more than 2.5 hours to flight time so I'll be taking my time about absolutely everything.

Onward ... probably won't update again until I'm at Allan's.
