Or at least I'm trying. Yesterday was a blur with getting up late (almost 8am !) and then Mass in Britt and the Island Queen in Parry Sound.
I'm gradually unpacking and cleaning up but the bike is still in the box. I decided to go on the boat ride even though I did have an excuse -- tired, blah blah blah. It was good to see Simone and Percy again (Kim's Mom and Dad) and Emma had a blast with Megan. I think that everyone enjoyed the ride. It could have been warmer, but wasn't.
This was the first time that we'd taken the cruise on a holiday weekend. Our third time now (Carol & Alister; George & Geri), it was amazing to see all the people on the Killbear Provincial Park beaches and so many boats and cottages occupied. The Osprey was still in its nest ...
We went grocery shopping after that (Sobey's) and then back to the cottage. Sandy had picked up an already-cooked chicken for dinner, so that was quick. The chicken was kind of bland though.
Jeffrey, Sara and Zoe arrived around 9pm and filled the house with their stuff :). Emma was still up but eventually she went down and I was still up at almost 11pm -- I guess that I'm still on San Fran time.
----------
Did I cover the travel day yet ? Don't think so. Everything went like clockwork. I left the motel in Davis at 3:30 a.m. getting to the airport just before 5. With the shuttle train etc. time passed and it was a little before 6am before I was checked in. The queue at security was non-existent and that too was quick. A sandwich later and I was on the plane which pulled away from the gate just before 8am, its scheduled departure time.
We were due to land at 4pm and were at the gate just before that. By 8pm I was at the cottage -- amazing when you think of a) immigration; b) baggage; c) customs; d) shuttle to motel/car; e) drive to cottage.
Emma was happy to see me (Poppa is more fun) and Sandy too ... I think :). I went over to the Davis' fire for a beer, have to do that at least once per year but don't. It's like swimming in the lake -- the moon and the stars have to be in alignment.
Onward !
Oh -- today ? make waffles; get that bike unpacked; finish laundry and cleanup; tend to some Randonneurs Ontario things ...
