Nov 20 - victory is mine !

I moved the switches.  It seems like such a simple thing but the switches to the upstairs bedrooms are now in their own rooms.  Why, you ask, wouldn't they be ?  Well, that's because they had been setup as bedroom, sitting room and kitchen before.  The switches were in logical places then.  The remodel didn't bother moving the switches so that the switches for the middle bedroom were in the hallway, opposite wall (there was no wall at one point) and the switches for the end room were in the middle room.

It was a pain wading through all that insulation.  Well, I actually didn't wade through but was able to stand on the trusses, then dig down through the insulation to where I thought the wires might be coming up etc etc.  After some drilling upwards from below and many, many trips through the trusses carrying stuff, I got 'er done.

We now have a junction box in the hallway where the double switch was (unavoidable, plus there are other junctions in there as well).  The switches in the middle bedroom that used to control the end bedroom have been re-purposed to be their own bedroom.  A new switch is now at the hallway entrance to the end bedroom.

It's all very complicated ... not really ... just a pain.  Oh yes, I also have an additional junction box in the attic.

In this process, I also replaced the middle bedroom fan.  We'd bought those fans at the same time as the loft so it was pressed into service.  I'll do the end bedroom (the river room) today.  The beds have been cleared and once the fan is completed, we'll put the carpet under the beds -- the one that was in the living room and has now been cleaned.  It's the one that used to be in our dining room in Radnor.

I also trimmed the doorway to the upstairs bedroom wing, attached the baseboard at the fireplace, caulked both and painted the inside of the fireplace black.  I cancelled the order for replacement brick so it's done, except for finding some black metal trim to cover where it meets the drywall.

Guess what ... I didn't go biking.  There were major showers in the area even though we didn't get much.  Today ... hopefully ... I'll take care of that !

Charlie came and did some minor adjustments as well as installed the glass doors to the corner cabinet by the laundry room.  We're still missing the three drawer fronts; otherwise there's nothing outstanding.

What else ... not much.

Onward ?  Hopefully ... oh yes, one more thing -- Jeff called and the glass tile that we want for the backsplash won't be in until January.  He's going to see if there's anything else out there.
