Feb 6 - no ride

It rained most of the day, cold and wet.  If it was just on the Doppler, I'd have been tempted, but it was pouring here.

So ... I went over to Tire Kingdom to get Sandy's new tires installed, and who was there but Patti Himes.  They took much more time than expected but I had a good two-hour visit with Patti.

One of the things that we were trying to pin down with Sandy's car was a rolling vibration.  The acceleration vibration has gone away with the replacement of the two front axles.  That's good.  Sandy said that there was still a vibration at speed -- not large, but there.  Well, it could have been the tires, however the tech doing the wheel balancing said that all four wheels are dented.  It's not visible but it's there.  Well, Sandy will have to judge whether the minor vibration like slightly out of balance is something that she can live with.  At least replacing the wheels is cheaper than the front-to-back driveshaft, which would have been the last thing on the "possible cause" list.   Tire Rack has some reasonably priced rims for her car, about $100 each.

Riley and Dolly were going to come over but that's been deferred because his car is in for service and wasn't ready.  Perhaps we'll see them Sunday.

I seem to have come down with a head cold.  Great.  That's going to make Saturday's 300k a lot of fun.

What else ... not much.  Sandy's iPad had stopped connecting to the internet so we tried a reboot and that fixed the problem.  It also downloaded a bunch of app updates, which sped up the machine.  Who knows.  Bill Gates isn't even involved with the iPad.

Onward.  No plans for today.  I can't ride because I have the big ride tomorrow.

I've been going to the gym almost every day but I won't go today due to the cold, although a dose of medicine seems to have it at bay.

Oh yes, we've booked our trip to the U.K. / Ireland / Belgium / France.  We're going to leave from Montreal and leave Abby with Sandy-doggy with Sheila.  Sheryl and Jim are coming too.  Montreal to Heathrow then Paris to Montreal, June 6 to July 7.  It should be fun.  Now we need other bookings -- some hotels, ferry to/from Ireland, cars etc.

Onward still ...
