Jan 31 - another drive

I headed off to Orlando and my periodic urologist appointment.  It was raining so I simply took the X5.  I'd originally planned on taking the M5.  As I went past I95, I remembered that I hadn't seen a license plate on the vehicle that a.m. at the gym ... yikes.  Those darn paper temporary plates !

So I stopped at the Walmart parking lot, just to get off the road, and attempted to install my real plate, for which hadn't  been transferred at this point but would at least not have me flagged by the next passing cop.  No screwdriver ... ah ... so I ran into Costco, picked up a screwdriver and some washers and then back out to the car and installed the plate.  It still wasn't very secure but it held to and from the urologist.  Later in the day I did a proper installation.  Also later in the day I got an email from my insurance agent with the updated proof and the dealer with the registration.  I'm legal :).

Earlier I had been reading the manual and went out to check the tires.  I couldn't see the run-flat designation (supposed to have run flat tires) and checked the tires online ... nope ... not run flat.  I emailed the sales guy and heard back from him later in the day that they had ordered new tires and would replace them.  That's a pain but I'm glad that I noticed.  That will cost them !  Those darn run flat tires are expensive in this size !  Without a spare I want those tires.

Eventually the daily drizzle stopped and Jim and I replaced his rear brake pads.  It was fiddly getting the pads to fit in the little retaining clips but we were successful.  He had very little pad left in the old ones.

We went to the Thai place for dinner, which was quite busy so it took a while.  The food was good, as always.

Onward ...
