Jun 29 - finish London

More tubing and sightseeing - Kensington gardens and palace and then Covent Garden for lunch and more browsing. The Queen Victoria thingy at Kensington Palace was quite interesting; humanizing.

Back at the ranch, we relaxed for a bit and then went out for dinner.

Morning again - the car was a little late but got us to the station in good time. We went straight to where the bike needed to be dropped off and were told that our train was cancelled due to the strike. Groan.

He held the bike and sent us to the earlier train to Lille. Oh oh. Going to be a long day. Queued up a nice lady tried to sort us out. Busses from Lille were totally booked so she switched us to the 7:30 pm train to Brussels. It was Sheryl who then asked her about Paris and she tracked that down ... thumbs up, we were then booked on a 10:30 to Paris.

So ... we then sorted out our cars, canceling one set of reservations from Brussels and setting up another from Paris Gare du Nord. The existing reservation, modified, didn't give us the best rates so we did a new + cancel dance duo. That worked or appears to have worked.

We are now in the departure area ... time will tell ... watch this space !

Onward !
